CSMCC Round 2 Race Report

Saturday
Thankfully, an incident-free test session this time round!
Qualifying
P6, my worst qualifying effort on the reverse direction. Not a disaster we could still race from there!
Race 1
With reverse direction being well known for its difficulties for passing and starting 6th it was defiantly going to make it an interesting start to the race. The initial launch of the line wasn’t the best but we managed to avoid the incidents ahead and slot into p2 before the turn 2. The safety car was called out just before the end of the second lap. The pace was there and on the restart, I got a good run into the hairpin and went for a move… and this is when I found out I had ABS issues as a giant lockup followed. Thankfully the car stopped but we dropped down 7th. The remaining laps were used to make lost ground as we took P5 at the line.
Race 2
Not the most exciting race, Moved up to P4 at the line.
Race 3
Starting P3 after the reverse draw, Got another good launch from the line and managed to get by my teammate Craig. The rest of the race was spent hounding down Mark Geraghty Racing and trying everything I could to get by. Lap 5 I went for an opportunist move around the around outside of McIntyre’s and held the lead for a couple of meters but couldn’t hold. P2 at the line with the top 5 at the line separated by less than a second! What a race.
All in all, Another good weekend. We struggled with ABS throughout the day but the guys at Minimax Motorsport were all over it! We move to third in the championship but it’s still a long way to go! We travel to Kirkistown for round 3, it’s all to play for!
Big thanks to the Orange Army as usual. Without you guys we couldn’t go racing, thank you.
As usual, a huge thanks to my sponsors. It’s already been a rough road but your help has been incredible! Thank you!
