CSMCC Round 7 Race Report
The final round of the season. A little late, but it’s better than never!
Qualifying
P8. Not the best, but we can race from there.
Race 1
Finished P3. The tricky conditions worked in my favour and I managed to pick my way through the field and take the bottom step on the podium and take another newcomer win!
Race 2
Finished P5. The worst conditions I have ever seen! It was difficult enough to keep the car on the track never mind trying to make sure I didn’t run into the back of anyone! Made a steady start but made 1 mistake which seen me drop down the order and bring the car home for another newcomer win in the end!
Race 3
Starting Pole alongside my teammate John Duncan Racing and made an okay start but slotted behind him going into turn one. However, nothing could stop a charging Robbie and Hannah as they sailed on by as I took P4 over the line which also made it 12 newcomer wins on the bounce!
Reflection on the season
So that it. I finished the last race of the season in 4th and cemented 4th in the overall championship but take home the 2018 Newcomer championship.
First, I would say a huge Coagulations to John Duncan Racing on winning the overall championship. To bounce back like he did after qualifying was truly a champions drive! Well-deserved mate! Truly gutted you won’t be racing next year! 😥
A huge thanks go to guys at Minimax Motorsport. I think the results speak for themselves when I say they’re the best team in the paddock. Overall and Newcomers champions. I’m glad we could get the results the team truly deserves!
I would just like to say thank from the on-going support from my sponsors. T. B. Mackay Energy Services, Summer Isle View and Deco - Rate. Without their support this year, I would not able to hit the track and be able to do the hobby I love. Thank you.
The orange army. Without these guys and girls, we just couldn’t race. They faced horrendous conditions on Sunday but they were still smiling even if they were soaked to the bone. Thank you for allowing me to race.
Last but defiantly not least, The support I get from my family and friends that come along to each race to stand on a cold and mostly damp hill to watch me do what I love means a lot to me. Thank you for all your support.
My wonderful girlfriend Marie. She has to sacrifice quite a lot for me to drive around and circles and not to mention the fact she stands in whatever conditions Knockhill throws at us. Now, I think it’s about time I treat you to a spa of some sort… or two!
So what’s next? Plan’s are already in motion for next and hopefully, it won’t be long until we can announce what these plans are!
